Winter has definitely arrived in northeastern Minnesota! Since my last post, I have seen the snow plow go by on our street moving the snow back at least two times. We are expected to get more snow in the next 24 to 48 hours.

After a few winters of next to nothing snowfall until midwinter, the tourist businesses which rely on normal snow conditions this time of year are rejoicing. I'm not an outdoor person in wintertime, but maybe this year now that I'm getting photos accepted on Big Stock Photo and hoping they sell, I should probably bundle up and head out.

This may be a good time to write some ski hill or snowmobile trail reviews for this part of Minnesota. I'm considering it though I have never downhill skiied or snowmobiled in my life.

Those carrots I mentioned in my last post? We had to break the two plastic containers loose from the icy ground and lug them into the basement to thaw before the carrots would budge. As long as the carrots are going to be blanched and frozen anyway for soup later, I guess I'm OK with that.

So how's winter so far in your part of the world?

Signing off from behind the hedge.

It's been a long time since I posted. I really need to make this a daily habit.

If I did this right, you should be seeing three photos. The first photo is our dog Holly sleeping on our couch. Always with a blankie and pillow, of course. The second photo is taken of the frost on one of our windows. The last is my view of the sidewalk leading out to the street.

Last night the snow arrived, and with it, colder temperatures. I don't mind looking out of my window at a snow-covered terrain, but I still have carrots in the ground and I'm afraid I'll have some time digging them out. I intend to cut them up and freeze them for later. What do you think?

My writing is going fine, I think. I just need to get more motivated. Seems that I write in bits and spurts. Focus, focus, focus.

I can say that I am within $50 of my income goal of $300 in PayPal for the year. That money will be very welcome when the heating bills go over $200 per month and the tax refund isn't due for another two or three weeks.

Just anyone else know that feeling? Til later.

My view from behind the hedge. A very white view, this morning.
